We are in - "Moringa": Germany's first high-rise building based on Cradle-2-Cradle principle

Particularly sustainable thanks to recyclable materials - the ecological and resource-saving "Moringa" project offers more green areas than the built-up property has square meters. Real pioneering work also in matters of fire protection!

With its premiere project in the Elbbrückenquartier in HafenCity Hamburg, Landmarken AG is developing the first residential high-rise in Germany based on the Cradle-2-Cradle principle in cooperation with kadawittfeldarchitektur.


Precious resources are not wasted, they are reused. Healthy materials are used in Moringa, the majority of the constructions can be separated and dismantled. Almost all components of the building should be able to be reinserted into the cycle of nature or sensibly recycled.


The combination of smaller amounts of building materials and a sophisticated recycling concept sets new standards. The facades, roof and courtyard areas are greened and thus more than 100% of the property area is given back to nature.

The cradle 2 cradle principle:

"The perfect cycle - nothing less is the vision and goal of Michael Braungart. The chemist developed a concept together with the American architect William McDonough in 2002 to make this idea reality. The Cradle-to-Cradle principle -

is based on nature, because biological cycles leave no waste behind."*


Our Hamburg colleagues, Nils Hendrik Gnas and Timo van der Horst, have been on board since the basic investigation and will accompany the project through all service phases up to project monitoring (service phase 1 - service phase 8).

Area: 3 structures, up to 12 floors (high-rise), 1 basement with underground parking, approx. 20,000 m² GFA, of which approx. 17,000 m² living space, approx. 400 bicycle parking spaces, approx. 50 car parking spaces with the option of each with one electric charging station to run
